Flamberge Longsword

Specifically designed to endure extreme stresses and abuse of full contact medieval armored combat.

The Flamberge sword, also known as Flammard or Flame blade, is a type of European sword characterized by its distinctive wavy or flame-like blade. The term “flamberge” comes from the French word “flamber,” which means “to flame” or “to blaze.” These swords were popular during the late medieval and Renaissance periods, primarily in the 16th and 17th centuries.

The wavy design of the blade served both practical and aesthetic purposes. From a functional standpoint, the serrated edges could potentially cause more severe wounds when slashing, as they increased the cutting area of the blade. Additionally, the serrations could catch an opponent’s blade, allowing the wielder to better control and manipulate their opponent’s weapon during combat.

Aesthetically, the undulating blade was often seen as impressive and intimidating.
